Default New to boards, advice appreciated.

Hello there.

I found these boards whilst looking for advice and wold appreciate any help.

My situation:
((I have always suffered migraines, a couple of years ago I had a broken nose and a couple of mild concussions.))

I was sexually assaulted in the spring/2014 and had my nose broken.
At the beginning of the summer holidays (UK) I suffered a concussion. We had been to a theme park, after I was reaching into a car to retrieve some dry clothes for my 6yo and the car door was slammed into my head. The locking mechanism struck just above my temple, the side of the door striking from my temple down to the corner of my jaw bone. I fell to the floor, losing consciousness...my child witnessed and tried to rush forward, mothering instinct kicked in enough for me to hold unconsciousness at bay and tell him to stay back, its ok. But then there are blank moments: glimpse of my nose hitting the car as I fell, then being on the floor. I'm not sure how long I was unconscious, but likely around a few mins.

The following day I visited the gp and had concussion confirmed- no aid or further tests offered.

The whole summer hols are a bit of a blur: I found crusty dried fluid in my ear, in the morning after. Exhaustion, confusion, bursts of anger, dizziness/vertigo, constant migraine, blurred vision/spots, nausea and sound/smell/light sensitivity. I am a writer and found it very difficult to concentrate or line edit.

In september I visited the GP again as symptoms were still bad, antagonized by a chest infection. He ran a few tests and said I had neuropathic damage, recommending an eye test.

The opticians ran their tests, my vision is 20 20 and my fields test was v.good. However, suspected damage to 4th and 6th nerves with left eye at 3/4 movement. He believed that I may not have realised severity of symptoms as my vision is so good, I have noticed I cannot see as far into my left periphery.

I have been refd to a specialist at the opthamology clinic on the 30th of October for further tests.

Does anyone know what I can expect from this? What sort of tests? I ask because I like to be prepared and I also have metal piercings that may require a trip to the tattoo/piercing parlour to remove. I don't want to hold up my or others apts!

Any general advice for treatment/coping is most welcome.

Cheers
