Default Don't mess with your meds

I suggested switching from Lyrica to Topomax because I had gained weight.

I went upto 100mg of Topomax and still had earache, cheek pain and a host of side effects. These included mood swings, being introverted, anger, intolerance, hand and feet numbness/pain and fatigue.

I am now tapering off Lyrica 25mg a week, and I am now at 50mg. At this point 2 years post injury I have experienced what lies beneath the medication. This is dreadful electric shock like stabbing pain in my jaw, earache, cheek pain, tooth ache, nasal pain - what is known as Trigeminal Neuralgia.

I am now moving back to Lyrica which definately works on the pain, so hopefully all will settle down before Christmas. A Lesson learned!

Symptoms mostly resolved, working full time and I am now mostly better. I wake 6am daily since my injury. Was experiencing daily Neuralgia which was controlled with Cymbalta 30mg, Lyrica 200mg daily. Now only on 30mg Cymbalta.
