Default Neuropathy / Nerve Conduction Test

HI

Not sure this is the right forum topic...but ...

If someone is diagnosed with peripheral nerve demyelination (neuropathy), is it possible for this to be caused by any kind of spinal compression?

I was under the impression that nerve damage from compression and nerve damage from demyelination had distinctly different "signatures" in a nerve conduction study.

Meaning that, demyelination:
- cannot be caused by compression.
- looks different on a nerve conduction test than nerve damage from compression.

AM I correct?

Thanks in advance.
