sull9,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

It is great to hear you have found success with your chiro neuro.

Chiropractic neurology has been discussed here many times. Dr Carrick in Atlanta is the center of most chiropractic neurology. His protocols have helped many but have not helped everyone. The challenge many have it the cost. Most of the treatment protocol is not covered by health insurance.

Plus, even though the Board Certification is done by Dr Carrick's organization, not all chiropractic neurologists use the same protocols and have the same skill sets. Chiropractors tend to be very individually oriented. They may pick and choose the concepts they use to treat their patients.

What kind of treatments did you receive for your neck ?

I'm disappointed to hear you did not find any help here. Your family doc's 'sleep and rest' is partially correct if properly understood. Proper, restful sleep is important. Healing happens during REM sleep. Rest is important but not at the expense of properly moderated stimulation to maintain good blood flow to the brain. The more important part of rest is avoiding over-stimulation. A few feel the need to retreat to a dark room but that is not necessary for many of us.

So, what symptoms are you still struggling with ?
