You need to notify SS when you begin working. Your employer might require you to go through an independent functional assessment--so make sure you're cleared to start.

I do not have any personal experience working while collecting SSDI. Those that have posted on the forum that have made the attempt are often having a problem keeping their benefits--but those that aren't having problems are MUCH less likely to post.
