It is curious to me why MS strikes certain muscles. Bowel, bladder, eyes, legs...why can't it be the 3rd toe on the left foot, or the right pinkie finger?

I have the same control issues too, KittyLady. I can hold urine or BMs up to a point. Once one or the other starts moving, look out, don't get in my way.
