Default Advice/Question for Mrs. D.

Hi Mrs. D., I know you are well read on the subject of Vitamin D3. So, I have a couple of questions. But first some background. I was found to be deficient in Vitamin D about two months ago. My number was 17. My blood platelets were slightly elevated and my c reactive protein was also elevated. Well, I already know that I am constantly inflamed. And a Rheumatology appointment is next. So, my doctor put me on 5000 units of Vitamin D3 a day. It was way too much I think. The next day I was experiencing dizziness until over a period of time I ended up in the ER with severe vertigo. Also, my chest was pounding constantly. They ran a CT scan of my brain and an EKG...everything was fine. I called my GP and he said to take 5000 every other day. Well, that didn't work out it either. So, I lowered it to 2000. That didn't bode well either. After the second call to my GP he told me to come off of it completely. Oh, I also know that my calcium is elevated too and was told not to take any calcium supplements about 3 years ago. Whew! Anyway, do you know why or how someone could be so sensitive to this? Now that I have stopped it is there anything else I could try? Thanks!
