Bizi,

This study showed that Lamictal was no better than placebo for acute mania:

Lamotrigine: when and where does it act in affective disorders? A systematic review
Quote:
There was no evidence of effectiveness in the acute treatment of mania, mixed episodes, unipolar depression or rapid-cycling bipolar I disorder.
Its effect in the acute treatment of bipolar depression is at most small.

I am taking three meds that are not supposed to work:
Verapamil
Lamictal
Gabapentin

It seems to be trial and error with drugs --either known to be effective or not.
Besides, you do do not have "acute" mania. You have some degree of mood elevation that I would not be able to define,
but you probably are aware if you want to lower your mood a little.
