Leesal,
This whole surgery was not favorable right from the beginning. If it were me, I would not want this surgeon to do another thing. I would seek a new oral surgeon, one who has a dual degree in medicine, meaning a dental DDS or DMD and and an MD medical degree because you have a very serious and complicated situation going on.
You need to obtain all of your records from the oral surgeon both pre op and post op along with the surgical report and all xrays. It is imperative that the new oral surgeon have all of this information when he sees you for the initial consultation.
I would not wait to do this.

I continue to have a horrible taste coming from the extraction sight and pain. He said there's infection present and wants to make an incision on the side of my gum, clean out the area really well to help save the graft.
Does this sound like the correct thing to do? Should I seek a second opinion? What caused the infection since I followed every thing perfectly. I did have a dry socket with the extracted tooth so is that the issue?
