I posted this once, but something happened to it. Please if any of you find it in a thread where it is obviously wrong, let me know.
I received the funds today in the mail. Kmeb sent a lovely card that was made by her with it. It said " you are special". I can't even tell you all how much I appreciate you all. I can't even find words to say it without tearing up. I know you have all hear this from me probably more than you want to hear it.
We also received email notice that the laptop is on it's way, it shipped today. I can't wait to receive it!
I've been making good progress and had even begun to cut down on the pain medication some during the day, but last night I did a Baddie with a capital B. I sat on the edge of the bed, lifted my legs as I turned and was on my side in the bed, went to lift myself with my elbow and slide my rear back some on the bed. I hear this distinct "pop" sound and felt it at the same time in the area of my lower rump. I had pressure on my right sacral area and it was too much. I was in pain the rest of the night. I suspect I've undone everything I have gained, it's terribly sore and very limiting today. I thought I was past that critical point and into just getting over the soreness. So...
I've made you all sit thru this ad nauseum story because I wanted to tell you that if you are recovering from a fracture in the hip/sacral area, a memory foam mattress isn't helpful. You need to be able to slide yourself on the bed. With a memory foam, it doesn't let you slide at all. You literally sink into it. It's great for arthritic backs, but not for limited movement. I've used my gown tail for weeks like one of those sheets you are turned with in the hospital. To pull my body with.
Anyway...sounds like a soap opera doesn't it???!!
Much love to all of you,
I'll keep you posted on the arrival.
