It sounds like your PCP believes there is more going on than just Fibromyalgia

Although I am heat intolerant I have found an electric blanket (throw blanket) to be helpful for treating my neuropathic pain. I cannot and do not use an electric blanket on my bed as it tends to be too much heat for me.
Give it a try and see if an electric blanket helps.
