Because I do a lot of yoga, it is probably easier for me to be on the floor than some...it still isn't comfortable at first though. I have a 4 inch thick foam mat on the floor along with some cushions to place under strategic areas to increase comfort and balance which helps too.
Don't ask me how to convince fur babies...or other babies
, that the mat and cushions aren't a communal day bed. I gave up on declaring it off limits years ago
