Depending on the recliner arms, or maybe even try some test set ups ahead of time with pillows and a board, or large plastic cutting board might keep things from sliding around, or maybe a tray with low sides, anything handy that might fit across.
Side tables would be handy too for water, meds snacks, phone.
Some pre made meals in the freezer or canned foods , easy heat up things.
and easy to eat..just tin case hands/arms aren't working well at first..
easy on clothes
Be sure to take movement breaks often, and rest when you get fatigued.
Everyone recovers at different time frames, so don’t push thru pain.
