I used to go to a therapy group for people with mood disorders.
Another group member with OCD reported that she found that a combination of mindfulness/meditation methods (which Dave recommended and I endorse) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) was very helpful.
It might help if you found a therapist who has experience of using both those approaches when working with his/her clients.
