Try breathing deeply and fully expelling the air - diaphragmatic breathing not upper chest breathing..

If really stressed the "corpse " yoga pose with deep breathing is very relaxing

I learned a lot about proper breathing over the past couple years.

One thing that has really helped me is to avoid taking deep gasps with my mouth. When stressed I make sure to keep my mouth closed and breathe through my nose. It's very difficult to over breathe by breathing through my nose.
