I have a beautiful 70 pound husky/sheperd mix. Jake has epilepsy, hemalitic anemia and phemphigus. He has had some major seizures and we almost lost him recently to the anemia. He made a miraculous recovery for which I am very grateful. Last month his medical bills where significantly higher than mine. I even had to get a second opinion for him. Am I being overly concerned? I guess my experience with RSD has taught me to question doctors.
Jake hangs out with me all day. Guards me when I'm sleeping. Let's me know when someone is walking down the sidewalk. Really let's me know when someone is coming to the door. When the anemia hit him hard, it was so sad to see him just laying around and stumbling when he did walk. It's very tough to watch a seizure. My husband was here (fortunately) when he had the last one & had to hold him down for 20 minutes to keep him from banging his head on the tile.
Today, he is fine, full of himself & fun. I like him best this way.
