For UTI's there are few non PN causing agents.

1) Keflex or Duricef may work

2) Doxycycline may work...

3) Bactrim or Septra DS-- this is a sulfa drug and some people become allergic to it. Must use lots of water when using this drug.

All these 3 are not on PN lists, but they do upset the bowel...so attention to probiotics is important with them.

But really you should get a culture done and sensitivity test.
Many bacteria become resistant when you take antibiotics over and over.

The neuropathy from nitrofurantoin shows in studies to be temporary after discontinuance.
