Default Thymoma developing after years MG?

Hi there, is it possible for someone who has MG for years, and has normal scans of the thymus gland when diagnosed, can develop a thymoma years after having MG?

It's not for me (my thymus, unfortunatly, isn't the cause) but my friend has never had a thymectomy and was wondering if this was not still an option for her. Her scans done years ago when she was diagnosed with MG all showed a normal thymus gland (as in, so small it's almost non existent). It's been years since those scans, but she doesn't want to ask for a new one.

She said: if I would have a thymoma that would cause the MG it would be there from the beginning, because that would be the cause. It's not the other way around, so the chance for me having a thymoma is as small as it is for a healthy person without MG, which is very small, it's no use to just scan.

It made me wonder if this is true? It sound kind of logical, I just wonder if there are people here who've had MG for years and found out they had a thymoma years later.
