See your other post, where the eye can be affected by Behcet's disease.

What you describe can be also a bleed into the retina. Usually they do an angiogram for that though. Your eye doctor should be able to see the bleed when looking into your eye.

I had one of those night vision losses, you describe. Mine was from a stroke in a vein in my retina. It took 6months to heal up.
I had a light purple haze in the same blind spot, during the day until it healed up. It never happened again...but I have to take blood pressure pills to prevent another, and also control my emotions, etc and not let anger or fear overwhelm me... which raises the blood pressure which then can stroke out the eye again.
