I have been living in this body full of neuropathic pain for 9 months now and I need to do something. I have been wanting to try this extreme diet for a while but as a holistic health counselor I do not believe in going on extreme diets. My belief is farm to table food, mostly veg, nuts, seeds, legumes, rice, fruit, bone broths, and small amounts of sea creatures and meats almost as a condiment.
I will be doing a science project on myself and will update you all on the progress. I have nothing to lose. I am not drawn to lots of fats, so this will be strange for me. Also, I eat a lot of fruit and will have to only ear low glycemic fruits in small portions. Low fat vegetarian or vegan diets do not work for me because they throw me into pretty bad hypoglycemia and paleo is too much meat and that doesn't work for me either, so I am pretty curious to see how this works.
If you have Lyme Disease, it is highly recommended that you avoid steroids. Google Lyme and Steroids, there is tons of info.

My neuropathy is from Lyme and I find staying completely away from sugar, in ALL forms, and stay away from simple carbs works best. I have just been on a raw vegan diet for 4 wks and decided to try a just a few bites of a brownie and I could feel neuropathy ramp up.

I also drink 2 ounces of wheatgrass a day and do large glasses of green veggie juice to keep my system alkaline. I have cycled on and off this diet for many yrs as it is hard to maintain in winter and during stressful times in life. However, I feel best on it.

Keep us posted how you do on the high fat diet. I use avocado for a good fat.
It can be mixed into shakes.

Best of luck.....feel better!
