My pain symptoms are also almost non-existent at night. This is one of the reasons why the neuromuscular specialist didn't diagnose me with PN. Mine is very bad while I'm on my feet, but gets better when I get home and put my feet up. I note a lot of people who say the sheets are incredibly painful at night. I'm the opposite - some nights I can hardly feel the sheets on my toes (sort of that feeling of wearing socks even though you aren't).

The doctor said that neuropathic pain almost always is worst at night, and putting your feet up won't help it. Of course, he didn't really take the time to listen to all my symptoms in detail - only the first few that I mentioned.
