Oh dear. Yes, do please ask your PT friend. With discomfort walking, it really would be best to consult a professional.

FYI....

It might be good to take an anti-inflammatory, but that is only advisable for some types of injury.

For muscle injuries, I've read that taking anti-inflammatories can actually slow healing because it increases bleeding in the areas of rupture, so maybe choose acetaminophen if you need to take something, since you aren't sure what this is.
