My attempt to transition from high-dose Paxil to Cymbalta was a train wreck. I really wanted it to work and began self-medicating with alcohol, traquilizers, and narcotics to convince myself that it was. Eventually, I embarrassed myself so badly that I had to give up the attempt.

Subsequently, I transitioned from high-dose Paxil to low-dose Lexapro with complete, (knock hard on wood), success. I am a life-long MDD and Lexapro at 10 mg. has been working at least as well, and, perhaps, better than, the Paxil that I took for over 10 years.

So my experience is at one with the article.
