I had a posterolateral thoracotomy 8 weeks ago, to repair my left lung following an infection that lead to pneumonia, empyema and a collapsed lung.
Although I'm no longer in serious pain, I still have a large area of numbness across the left side of my chest and side.
Has anyone got any experience of how long it takes for the numbness to reduce or disappear?
Is there a burning sensation associated with the regrowth of the nerves? as that is what I am experiencing at the moment.
