Lightbulb

I can get sensations in my feet when I press on my hip in a certain spot, while lying down at night.

I use magnet pads on that spot when it is uncomfortable, and it stops rather quickly. I think these are trigger points... where nerve bundles cluster.

There are places you can tap (Tinel's sign) in the wrist and ankle and elicit tingling in a nerve. There are YouTubes demonstrating Tinel's sign.

Sometimes I can use a Lidoderm patch behind my knee, and my foot is also numbed and feels much better.
