I read the book a long time ago as well. Wasn't sure what to make of it.

I've never noticed any food sensitivities, but I'm really trying to pay more attention to what I'm doing/eating good days, bad days-wise. The only thing I know for sure right now is I definitely do better when it's warm. We're in a cold snap right now, and the difference is amazing.

Yes, the 20g - 25g I see recommended so often is not terribly realistic for me on a daily basis. I'm probably near that on some days, but nowhere close on others. I think my doctor's recommendation of 60 g/day is more realistic, and I'm doing a lot more of "eating to my meter" testing right now. I've been pleasantly surprised how little some carbs are raising my blood sugar, so my carb consumption is creeping up.
