Hi Jen,
I found that the brightness of a computer monitor would often trigger sz. for me. In regards to balance I have very poor balance also. I found out that often this is do to the AED a person is taking or it can happen because the cerebellum of the brain which controls a persons balance is being affected do to the epilepsy, that's why a neuro or epi will have a person try and walk a straight line walking heel to toe without looking down at the floor. I always pull to the right when I do this and it's the RTL of my brain that's causing the sz. Here's wishing you well and May God Bless You!
