I'm sorry you're dealing with such an uncomfortable situation in your mouth. Something is obviously irritating the area. It doesn't sound as if it's ok as your dentist has told you. I'd be getting another opinion if in the same situation. It sounds as if it needs to be looked at as soon as possible. The little lumps may be because the gum is constantly being rubbed or irritated by a badly fitting bridge as you say but I personally wouldn't try anything except for a salty rinse several times a day until you find out what's actually going on there.
