We have an ill family member and this combined with my own health problems ...well, it all definitely contributed to depression at times.

Although everyone is different, I personally have found that certain vitamins have been helpful for me in terms of fighting depression and anxiety. These supplements for me have included: Vitamin D3, Fish Oil, B Complex, extra b12 and a multi vitamin. I also take extra Magnesium at night. I take more than this, but these are the ones I think might be extra helpful for fighting depression and anxiety.

Most importantly though, you very likely should seriously consider regular appointments with a talk therapist. It sounds like you have access to some strong medications and if your doctor felt they were necessary, that's fine, but, it does indicate that you very likely would benefit from regular talk therapy with a good therapist.

Getting regular sleep at night and gentle exercise during the day is often of help as well.

Wishing you good health and happiness.
