Sorry you are going through this, but it seems that your Drs are passing you along for the correct testing/treatment to come at the earliest opportunity. Of course, this will hinge on whether you get a good Neuro, or an ignorant/arrogant one. Be forwarned, they are out there in droves.

Regarding having a few beers, alcohol is a known neurotoxin which has been shown to damage the Peripheral Nerves. It may relax you, but do you want to risk further damage?
