Bizi:
Beans are like the number one thing you need to avoid right now, and eggs are right up there. Just forget these foods until you feel much better OR have ruled out the gas hypothesis. Do not eat any beans/legumes or eggs. That includes peanuts which are legumes not nuts, and peanut butter.
Bad idea foods -- short list:
Beans/legumes -- (big no-no!)
Eggs (also big no-no!)
Milk, although yogurt does not cause as much of a problem.
Cruciferous vegetables -- broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and its relatives
Mushrooms -- these were on Mari's list; I forgot about them... they are least as bad as broccoli.
The problem isn't all about fermentation. Yes, that can cause some gas: yeasts digest the sugars and release carbon dioxide gas. But eggs and cruciferous vegs, for instance contain sulfurous compounds which break down during digestion, not by fermentation, to produce hydrogen sulfide gas. That might be the thing with mushrooms too (not sure).

It concerns me a little, Bizi, that you've had this pain for several days now, despite eating the same things you usually eat.
I'd say go to the clinic for a consultation, but I would not (personally) ask for an ultrasound - if they think there could be a different problem, they will request one... or you can at that point request one depending what they say.
