The KT tape site has lots of videos on how to apply the tape.

But one should still get a PT's advice, because if you tape wrongly you can compress something you shouldn't, or not get the correct results. Either way, it looks like a professional should be on hand to help.

Wearing anything too tightly including slip on braces can compress blood vessels and may lead to blood clots in the legs.
One doesn't need that for sure!
