Pain localized in one spot on a foot, as opposed to global burning all over, may be due to some mechanical problem of the foot that needs correcting.
Broken or cracked sesamoid bones are one cause. Arthritis from an old injury, or neuromas, are other causes of specific pain spots that you can point to.
It is always a good idea to get a good foot doctor's opinion, and x-rays.
