It has been taking some people as long as 9 months to get a response. It took me 6 months on my last one, which was a year ago.

Your therapist is right, please try to put it out of your head. SS will send you a letter stating benefits will continue or they'll want to do a Long Form CDR. Have you seen a psychiatrist recently? It's a good idea to see one every 6 months and have your meds/dosages evaluated. It seems like you're really struggling and maybe that can be reduced.

It's very uncommon to not have benefits continue, and then it's usually because the beneficiary stopped going to their doctor and/or started working again. And even in those scenarios, they can appeal the decision to have their benefits stopped.
