Hi,
I have 8 physicians and most of them have gone to an electronic record rather than paper charting. Many of them have taken my photo. A few have only "copied" my driver's license. The ONLY physician that has NOT required a photo is the ONE doctor that is still charting on paper.
The specialty does not seem to have anything to do with the demand for the photo.
One physician that required that my photo be taken has been my physician for over 35 years and calls me by name if I see him in the grocery store. He obviously knows me by sight so it is not just for identification. It must be some requirement and not just instituted by the physician's office practices.
Glad you brought up the topic. It will be nice to hear from others in various geographical areas if this is being done everywhere.
