I love Chia seeds for constipation. I found out about them when I was my mother's caregiver. She had Parkinson's.
My mother put the Chia seeds in her evening yogurt. It was the end of a lifetime of constipation and hemmoroids. She also benefited from the extra protein they provided.
Some people mix the Chia with water which forms a gel in about 15 minutes and since Chia is flavorless they mix the gel in drinks, puddings, etc.
I mix mine in Kefir, a fermented dairy product which has good bacteria.
