The HCTZ depletes potassium and magnesium. So eating foods high in potassium is a good idea. You can take a magnesium supplement (but not OXIDE form) and see if that helps too.

These are common nutritional problems with the drugs you mentioned.
Thank you very much mrsD. When you talk about the ACE inhibitor....which medication is that? I am assuming that the HCTZ is the Hydrochlorothiazide correct? I just had extensive blood work done on my last Dr's visit which was about 2 weeks ago. I do not know what they tested for but they said my bad cholesterol was a tiny bit high but good cholesterol was normal. They said all other tests were normal. I guess I will have to ask them what they tested for. Again, thanks for the info.
