Canagirl,
I am going to give you a summary of one of my health counseling sessions in brief- just in case it could be helpful to you or anyone here.

It is very helpful for some people to keep a diary symptoms.

I think it's important to begin each entry with 3 things you are grateful for before going into what you are miserable about and your symptoms (which happens to be therapeutic as well). Also include dosages of pain meds and breakthrough meds, and supplements you take each day.
If you have the time, I also recommend adding what you ate that day to track how different foods affect you.

If I hadn't done this, I wouldn't have been able to remember the order of things or see how much things have changed. So much was a blur of hellish agony, fog, sadness, and fear. Looking back helps me tremendously to cope and not feel sorry for myself. I thought I was going to die.

When I think back in terms of days or weeks, my changes and improvements are imperceptible. Each improvement I've had has taken about 2 months to see a change and some of them have come with setbacks from which at least I have had a quicker rebound than in my worst stages.
Anyway, it might be worth a try. For those I am coaching, it is mandatory homework
I can't wait to be able to start my practice again! Not ready yet, but it is going to happen.
