What are you doing to help try to maintain good alignment ?

For me, I suffered what could be compared to disautonomia if I let my neck got out of sorts by sleeping or resting in poor posture. It took a year or longer of disciplined sleep and rest posture to see even a beginning of stabilization in my neck. My symptoms when bad would be low pulse and blood pressure, poor breathing to the point of Central Sleep Apnea, strange body jerks and tingling, lousy proprioception (awareness of body and muscle position).

I believe my problem is in the cranium to C-1 joint. It would get out of position and causes brain stem inflammation.

So, I think the NY Atlas Orthagonal chiro may be onto something but the important part is what to do. If could just be inflammation rather than herniation. Both could have similar symptoms. It would be worth considering.

One of the things I did and still do is rest in a recliner and not go to bed until I am ready to immediately fall asleep. This way, I sleep in straight neck posture and wake up that way. It has changed my life. And adjustable bed could provide similar benefits.

Just my ideas of what helped me.

I hope you can find something to work for yo.
Hi Mark, I apologize for the delayed response, I don't get notified about a response and then sometimes forget that I posted. Ibheld my alignment once for 4 years straight and I attribute it to: not looking straight up, not "pushing" with my head when rolling over, not laying with my neck on the arm of the couch, using one pillow, taking caution at the hairdresser when getting hair washed in the sink and avoiding any jarring activities (this includes running). My blood pressure also drops when I'm out of alignment causing low blood pressure and pre-syncope.

I am seeing Dr. Gordon Hasick, a very experienced nucca chiropractor and researcher (currently researching migraines) next month and can't wait to hear what he has to say. He has already spoke about intracranial compliance (which is the flow of blood and cerebral spinal fluid in the head).

I've also officially been referred to de. Satish Raj, a researcher of the disorder, POTS who I am very excited to see as he may be able to explain why I am so sensitive to drugs as well as my heart rate and blood pressure issues along with the pain all over my body. Dr. Hasick basically said my system went berzerk after my last adjustment and he is going to give me info on how to deal with this (I hope it works).

Still dealing with anxiety. Still dealing with major symptoms around menstruation as well as if I have another infection in my body (I.e. UTI or sinus infection). I will keep this thread updated after I get some doctor appointments and blood results under my belt!
