My son was dx with TS when he was 10, and although we tried conventional treatments, we eventually switched to a more natural protocol after he had very severe reactions to the prescribed medications. The improvement in his tics and co-morbid conditions was close to miraculous! He is in his mid 20s now and doing very well, a talented musician and living a full life. I wrote about the success we had with natural treatments for him on our TS forum here some years ago.
Much of what we did was thanks to a friend sending me info on Latitudes/ACN
http://latitudes.org/
The site owner there, Sheila Rogers, has written an excellent book on this different way of treating tics and TS

There is also a youth friendly site, Life's A Twitch, that he may enjoy.......
www.lifesatwitch.com
It is mainly archives there now, but still a lot of info and a Youth Haven section for him to look at.
I hope that gives you some info in your quest to help your cousin
