Default The elephant in the room

In homeopathy school I was taught to ask deeply the question of what is it that needs to be healed as our patients would present a plethora of dilemmas alongside a central complaint. For example; she comes to you with a skin rash. But whilst taking her case you observe a deep frustration with inability to focus.....as if she had stared at the sun too long and became herself like a noble gas unable t o summon her earthly roots...partially in the body but only partially. Most of us have heard the analogy likening the expression of our symptoms to layers of an onion - but I think that is far too linear in concept however is useful nonetheless.

Central to parkinsons(isms included) is the issue of supply and bioavailability of dopamine - the brain chemical associated with addiction and/or its opposite.

It seems we need to be taking a very good look at what this most obvious clue to our pathos is telling us about ourselves. Addiction comes in many forms not the least among them are codependency in relationships -one not so easily acknowledged but may hold central clues towards making whole our fractured selves. Our appetite for sweet foods may be reflective not only of a physiological imbalance but also one of the psyche. But a question becomes which came first ...the psychological pattern or the physiological response...could be either - perhaps it doesn't matter unless addressing the psyche could effect physiological healing.

The following information remiinds me of the concepts put forth in the science of epigenetics and what a primary role the environment plays in determining ones' experience.
