I think it fair to try more than one block unless you have a bad reaction or just don't want to. Your doc may have a protocol for non-responders, like try 2-3 then stop. If you get nowhere with it then cap the risk. Also pay attention the next few days. It may be the lidocaine type drug doesn't do much for you but the steroid which is typically added does. Steroid does not reach full effect immediately.
Go for it on the DMSO, your doc may not be familiar with it. It is part of the Dutch protocol for use in the first six months. So you'll smell a little garlicky. I had a hard time finding a DMSO product at the right percentage. 70% is commonly sold but pretty strong on the skin and I think the recommendation is 50%. I found it on Amazon. People try a variety of mixers to dilute. I ended up liking aloe Vera gel for the purpose.
If you have a skin reaction pull back or don't use it. My skin maxed out at twice a day and got irritated after that.
