This should be familiar to some. An old forum poster from another group from long ago (I think I was on yahoo then...) disappears for a long time, only to come back when things get bad. Sometimes, it's nice to see someone leave the forums. It means things are looking up for them and they don't have time to post that everything is going as well as it could be.
And so it was for me. Except for the light sensitive migraines. I hate the term "photophobia," but that's what it's called. I work a night job, rarely see the sun, and I don't mind it that way. I really do wear my sunglasses at night.

Anyway, I've been doing well, got my degree, not doing a damn thing in it, just paying bills by working nights and getting by. Happy to be able to contribute and blessed not to have to pull in disability.

But things have gotten a little weird in the last few months. Classic chiari signs, dizziness and pain. Other little stuff too, that I'd blamed on all the BS I have to take just to be a normal person able to work, started to click in my head as possibly sympotomatic. So I asked the doc to do an MRI. Just in case.

Conclusion: I probably have a syrinx starting in the T2 region, but they didn't scan far enough to be sure. More scans to come. Also, no flow anteriorly of my cerebellum, but it's okay elsewhere.

Question: I thought the PFD helped prevent syrinxes (syrinxi?) from developing in the first place. I never had one initially, so how did this one just spring up? Bad flow?

Also, what can they do, since the PFD has already been done? I've been reading that most treatment is to fix what's causing the syrinx. My tonsils are in place, and flow is occurring, if not at it's best. I don't see what else can be done.

TLDR: How does one get a syrinx after a successful PFD, and what treatment options are available, since the PFD has already been done?
