Gall bladder disease has pain in the back and referring to the right shoulder at times. It comes more often when you eat high fat foods. There can be lots of belching and bloating.

If one has stones, they can roll around and block the bile duct... inflaming it. If this happens often enough, the duct can become infected and spread to the pancreas, causing pancreatitis. This is another pain...in the middle of the upper stomach area which may refer to the back as well.

Nausea and vomiting may occur with either of them.
