The wrapping will drive more into the horse.

100 g would therefore have 60 gm and with the magnesium elemental factor would be about 30gm +/- 10 gm.
100gm of this is about 4 ounces.

The gel base would facilitate absorption too. So this is very concentrated.

Compare to Kirkman cream which is 100mg, / scoop.

Product Description

Available in 20 ounce jar and 10 pound size.

Kaeco Epsom Salt Poultice is a topical gel designed for external applications. It is effective for drawing abscesses, helps reduce swelling and soothes pain caused from bruises, sprains and strains. “A great choice for insect bites and drawing abscess collections from the feet. We’d keep a jar around just for that…” (Horse Journal – August 2004)
For years, horse owners have understood the benefits of soaking horses legs and hooves in epsom salts. Epsom salts are an effective treatment for drawing abscesses, reducing swelling and soothing sore muscles or joints. This soothing and effective therapy is now available with Kaeco’s Epsom Salt Poultice. This topical gel is highly recommended for drawing abscess collection from feet.

Because of that it can sting or burn skin that has cuts or abrasions or is just dry and cracking.

This is highly concentrated therefore. So be careful with it.
You could even dilute it with another lotion or gel.

I'd start with a very small amount, and use it on one leg/foot, for 3 days, and if that works, and you don't have side effects, go with that.

If you have any kidney disease, ask your doctor before using.

Animals often have very different metabolic systems...so while they may use something similar to us, they may require much more or much less of a nutrient than we do. Horses can be over 10 x as heavy as a normal human and require more magnesium than we could tolerate.
