Depending on the depth and location of the cyst, the surgeon probably had to do quite a bit of surgery in that area which could have involved some bundles of nerves that would cause the numbness you are experiencing. Also these surgeries can be quite painful for longer than what is expected when a less difficult tooth is extracted.

Did the surgeon explain how involved the surgery was going to be to remove the cyst and those teeth prior to having it done?

What are doing post operatively to heal the site? What are you rinsing with? Are you able to brush all of your teeth? Are you eating a nutritious soft food diet or junk food? Are you relatively healthy or sickly? I ask because all of these things will affect your healing either in a good way or a not so good way.

The cyst was under #30 then a week later # 32 was inflamed and had to be removed. He did explain the surgery he also said the nerve was very aggravated from the Surgery and it would take a little bit for it to settle down and numbness to go away. I went back again because of all the discomfort and they say could be another 6 wks all looks good. Does not seem right. I am using warm salt water rinses and I can brush all teeth just very gentle on that side . I am normally healthy. I have been eating soup fruit yogurt shakes cheese pasta are what ever I canmanage. My lips and chin are sore to touch on the outside the skin feels almost like it would if you had wind burn . Could I have some kind of reaction to the graft? Between my gums and cheek are the worse and painful in front. Should I get another opinion or does it just take this long ? I'm so frustrated. Thank you
