Hi Sam,

I had posted this thread not too long ago; you should definitely take a look at it:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ghlight=shower

For me, despite loving showers all my life, showers are now a constant source of symptom intensification and rumination. Whereas I used to find them relaxing, I now find them a source of stress that diminishes my capacity to tolerate other things for the day's remainder.

Fortunately, I identified the problem: over-stimulation. The constant sound of the shower-head and water splash lead to "mental flooding". To combat this I've come up with a simple solution: I shower with ear plugs!! Since doing this, the over-stimulation/mental flooding is no longer an issue during my showers. However, if I forget my ear plugs, which occasionally happens I'm quickly reminded that I have to wear them.

Try it out... it's made my mornings (i.e. I shower in the AM) better than they used to! Hopefully this will help you too.
