Mel, Lisinopril almost killed me. You should discuss with your doctor changing to another blood pressure drug.

The way lisinopril works is that a chemical called bradykinin builds up in the body, and dilates blood vessels. In some people this cannot be metabolized away quickly enough and it results in
tissue swelling and loss of functions. Lisinopril also is excreted whole and not metabolized by the liver, so it can cause inflammation of the lining of the bladder even.

Your sinus problems suggest inflammation there, and this can occur in the throat and lungs too. If you have a sudden insult to your throat or lungs (a virus) you can close up and choke to death.

Consider this your body warning you that you cannot tolerate this drug anymore, and get switched off all ACE inhibitors and ARB (ACE receptor blockers)...Just dealing with the symptom is not changing what lisinopril is doing all over your body.
