Lightbulb Trust your medical instincts and question everything

This is a great, short talk on how the media and PR firms (and big pharma) manipulate the public into believing almost anything. In this talk, medical issues are highlighted.

People who are sick—who are often tired or worn down—often fall prey to this sort of "brainwashing" and manipulation of the truth.

I think that it's important to always question why you "should" have a drug or why a test is necessary or what any alternative therapies could be.

This well-spoken woman highlights the necessity of not taking what we read or hear at face value. It's pretty sad that so many medical professionals in a public forum do this. Or that even doctors (along with pharmaceutical companies) push agendas through certain medical research studies.

I just wanted to put this out here as a caution if you encounter a doctor pushing a drug at you without a good enough reason (i.e., without an alternative such as dietary or exercise changes) or without caution. Since we patients are often feeling worn out and needy, they "like" to prey on us even more!

I've encountered this so many times throughout the years, but was able to counteract it. I find it ironic that, with MG, so many doctors do the opposite: they err on the side of caution and don't diagnose MG patients and offer them the drugs available.

Life with a disease is hard enough without having to fight those who are supposed to be helping us!
