Default new expensive exercise gadget - powerplate - vibrations?

Just read a few things about this new exercise gadget/machine called Powerplate. Saw an ad on the back page of the New York Times magazine today. Way too expensive for me, the cheapest version is $3000 before tax (and delivery). Are being sold by Brookstone for $4500. They have one at the high end for $10k.

Anyway, the ads and info on the web seem to be aiming at disabled folk such as with MS. Seems to claim pain relief. Didn't see peripheral neuropathy mentioned. Was wondering if anyone knows anyone who has one or has used one with results?

Madonna is supposed to be using one but you never know about the celebrities. They may be given a free machine in exchange for positive publicity.

I would be tempted to do a trial membership at a gym if I knew one that had this machine.

p.s. I'm not affiliated with the company that makes the machine and not a customer (but if I win the lottery, I would definitely consider being one...LOL)
